Description
Commissioned by British heavy metal rock band Diamond Head for their second studio album. Vocalist and guitarist Sean Harris gave Matthews a fairly accurate ballpoint sketch of how the layout should look. In addition to the “Gateway to Hell” on the right, he wanted facsimiles of Michael Moorcock’s Tanelorn city and the albino warrior Elric, in the characterisation Matthews had already established.
